About tr00b

I work as a machinist during the day and spend most of the rest of my time at a multitude of computer and online activities. I first got online in ‘97 or ‘98 and got immediately “hooked”. I worked off and on in direct marketing as a past time for several years prior to getting online, so when I bought my first computer, I naturally gravitated towards direct marketing on the internet. Almost every waking hour from that time on, outside of work, was spent with my face in a computer screen, learning everything I could. And internet marketing was my number one priority! In addition to marketing, I learned about health, nutrition, computers, politics, religion and tons of other things. I have a massive offline library, too, because sometimes it’s just easier to read a book than to wade through all the information on the internet to learn about a topic. But online is good, too…

I’ve created a couple of websites over the years, which have sadly gone the way of the Dodo bird. The first one was AuctionPowers.com, which I launched to help people profit from online auction websites like eBay. I thought it was a clever twist on Austin Powers which was very popular at the time. :-) Then the next site was called MaximumEdgeMarketing.com. It’s purpose was to help people learn the art of marketing products or services online. It went offline this past summer when the webhost died of mysterious circumstances.

I’ve also done some video making on sites like YouTube.com, done a little bit of blogging, been a forum moderator, and I’ve even been known to Twitter occasionally. (Go to twitter.com to find out about this hidden internet treasure!)

Now with the popularity of Web 2.0 skyrocketing out of sight, I really wanna get involved with marketing in this new venue. It’s much more personal and enjoyable so I’m really looking forward to putting it to the test. That’s why I’ve decided to start blogging again and launching my upcoming website. It’s gonna be quite a ride, so I welcome you to climb on in, buckle up, and hang on! This blog is where I intend to keep track of my progress and projects, kinda like a personal business journal. But I hope it will be more than that… I hope it will give us a chance to get to know each other on a deeper, more personal level than would otherwise be possible.

Well that’s about it for now. Catch ya on teh Internets! :-)

Tony
