iPhone gets hacked on video!

Could your iPhone be hacked by someone at the local coffee shop?

Apparently some security flaws exist on the Apple iPhone. This video shows security expert Rik Farrow hacking into the iPhone using his laptop. All SmartPhones are vulnerable, he says. http://www.fastcompany.com/multimedia/2007/11/hacking-the-iphone.html

Is Heroes the Greatest Show EVER?

How is it that Heroes has exploded into one of the most loved television shows in this generation? How is it that this happened virtually over night? Is it something to do with the interactivity of the show? Or the lightning-like communication we enjoy in this Web 2.0 age? People all over the world are watching the episodes as they unfold and are uploaded online at NBC.com.

Or is it because everyone can relate to having been “different” at some point in their lives? Who hasn’t wanted to be able to travel through time, or become invisible, or possess extraordinary strength, or the myriad of other “powers” that Heroes showcases?

I’m not sure why the show has incredible popularity all over the world, I’m just glad I found out about it.

If you have any ideas feel free to drop me a comment. I’d love to hear from you.

The beginning… again! *sigh*

Well, after several months of not blogging or doing much of anything, I’ve decided to begin a new blog. You see, my old blog… and website… and everything else I had on my old webhost, disappeared into cyberspace last summer. I still am uncertain what happened, but when I tried to login to my website one day, nothing happened… period. After trying multiple ways to gain access to a non-existent website, I finally gave up and resigned myself to the fact that it had happened to me! Not one of those other people, … but to ME!

I never thought it would happen to ME, even though I had always heard it was a good idea to back up all your data and keep a hard copy in case something happened to your website or other online data. Those kinda things only happen to the other guy. Right? Wrong! I had no made backups. No plans in case it ever happened to ME…

So I whined and moaned about it for several days and made a few half-hearted attempts to retrieve some of the data, but nothing came of it. Then I just kinda lost all my steam… all of my motivation for doing it. After all, who wants to start over from scratch when you’ve spent four years of your life building something and then POOF! it’s all gone in a puff of web-smoke?

But after a few months of moping and giving occasional thoughts to starting a new blog and website, today I finally developed a burning desire to get back into the saddle after being thrown from the ‘net horsie. I’ve been playing around with facebook and myspace a little bit, so that kinda took the edge off. But today, for some unknown reason, I was like a pacing lion… I couldn’t wait to get off work so I could rush home and get this blog started. So here it is… the first blog of the rest of my life…

Let me introduce my self… I’m Tony. I’m also known as tr00b. That’s my favorite online nickname. This wordpress.com blog will be my temporary home until I get a new webhost picked out, then I will move it. Hope you will join in this new beginning with me. I have tons of things planned. So please bear with me as it begins to take shape.

I work as a machinist during the day and spend most of the rest of my time at a multitude of computer and online activities.

These are the things we will be discussing in the coming days, week, months, and years.

Welcome to tr00b’s world!
